There are four ways of aligning annotations: snapping during creation, snapping during movement, using alignment toolbar/ribbon bar or aligning to the grid.
Once the dimension type is selected, click on the desired area to dimension and pull cursor out to place dimension. Move the cursor over the dimension you wish to align with to snap the new dimension to the existing dimension.
For two existing dimensions, select the dimension you wish to align. Move the dimension and place the cursor over the dimension you with to align to.
The Alignment tools help facilitate alignment for dimensions, item bubbles, and text contained on the drawing. These elements can be aligned Left, Center, Right, Top, Middle, or Bottom. In addition, three or more selected elements can be distributed horizontally or vertically. To align, select the desired dimensions and click the corresponding button on the toolbar or on the Alignment Ribbon Bar Group on the Common Fluent Ribbon Bar.
Note: The last dimension selected will be the one other dimensions align to.
Item Bubbles, Text, and the Text with Leaders can snap to the grid when the grid snap option is enabled. This allows for user to quickly align elements by clicking them and dragging items to sections of the grid.
