The spherical move bend editing handles can be used to visually move a bend shape, relative to the axis of the selected handle.  Move the cursor over a move bend editing handle until the cursor changes to a hand and double-pointed arrow and then drag along the handle axis direction to move the bend.  The length of the bend stock adjusts to the location of the bend and any unconstrained shapes connected to that side of the bend are repositioned accordingly.

Also available are editing options that can be accessed by right-clicking the spherical Move Bend editing handles:

  • Edit Bend Alignment.  Choose this option to display the Edit Alignment dialog box and use the available options to specify if bend alignment should be relative to outside/inside radius, smooth, based on a custom bend stock length, or reset bend alignment.
  • Edit Distance from Point.  Use the following options to specify the point from which distance measurement should begin when the selected handle is dragged.  By default, the distance measurement begins at the current position of the handle’s associated edge.
  • Point.  Select this option and then select a point on the selected object or an alternate object to specify the point from which distance measurement should begin when the selected handle is dragged.  The Edit Distance dialog box is displayed for entering a precise distance value, if desired.
  • Center Point.  Select this option and then select an end or side surface of a cylindrical object to specify its center point as the point from which distance measurement should begin when the selected handle is dragged.  The Edit Distance dialog box is displayed for entering a precise distance value, if desired.
  • Use SmartSnap.  Select this option to activate display of SmartSnap feedback relative to shared planes between the selected handle and points, edges, and faces on the same part.  When selected, the sizebox handle lightens in color.  SmartSnap remains active on the selected handle until its option is deselected on the pop-up menu.
  • Snap to Point.  Select this option and then select a point on the selected sheet metal object or an alternate object to immediately align the selected handle’s associated edge with the specified point.
  • Snap to Center Point.  Select this option and then select an end or side surface of a cylindrical object to immediately align the selected handle’s associated edge with the center point of the selected surface of the cylindrical object.
  • Set Handle Snap Point.  Use these options to specify a snap point for the selected handle.
  • To Point.  Select this option and then select a point on an alternate sheet metal object to specify it as the selected handle’
  • s snap point.  When the handle is dragged, distance feedback is displayed relative to the specified snap point.
  • To Center Point.  Select this option and then select a point on an end or side surface of a cylindrical object to specify its center point as the selected handle’s snap point.  When the handle is dragged, distance feedback is displayed relative to the specified snap point.
  • Set Handle Orientation.  Use these options to change the orientation of the selected handle.
  • To Point.  Select this option to align the selected handle parallel to an imaginary line extending from the base of the handle to a selected point on an alternate object.
  • To Center Point.  Select this option to align the selected handle parallel to an imaginary line extending from the handle location to the center of an end or side surface of a cylindrical object.
  • Point to Point.  Select this option to align the selected handle parallel to an imaginary line between two selected points on an alternate object.
  • Parallel to Edge.  Select this option to align the selected handle parallel to the selected edge of an alternate sheet metal object.
  • Perpendicular to Face.  Select this option to align the selected handle perpendicular to the selected face of an alternate sheet metal object.
  • Parallel to Axis.  Select this option to align the selected handle parallel to the axis of a cylindrical object.
  • Reset Handle.  Select this option to reset the selected handle to its default location and orientation.
