Training 07 | TriBall Positioning Tool (3/3)

With the TriBall, you can easily move and rotate features, create copies and linked patterns or even mirror linked copies with a few clicks. No constraints or relations are made that will give you headache when you make unforseen changes in the future. Find more information below the video.

IRONCAD includes a patented tool for 3D positioning of objects, called TriBall. Hailed by some as "The most useful tool in CAD history". TriBall is incredibly useful in many different situations but is primarily used for positioning objects in the 3D scene. Once you have become friends with it and know how it works, it will become indispensable.

It is possible to position several different objects in the same moment with TriBall. Combined with keyboard shortcuts for selection, you can mix parts, features (e.g. holes) and assemblies and move them all at the same time, without any link between them being defined beforehand - this is unique to IRONCAD!

Find more on the IronCAD Academy about the TriBall under the Commands section (the top right corner of this page).
